Can I Go to Any Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting? A.A. meetings exist so members can share experience, strength, and hope to recover from alcoholism and help others. Meetings may be open or closed. Closed meetings are for those with a drinking problem who want to stop drinking. Open meetings are available to anyone interested in A.A., including non-alcoholics as observers. All meetings are led by A.A. members, who set the format and ask that discussion focus on recovery.
